Todd Chrisley’s Shocking Journey: Fame, Fraud & Presidential Pardon

Todd Chrisley, born Michael Todd Chrisley on April 6, 1969, in Georgia, is an American reality television personality and former real estate entrepreneur. He gained fame as the patriarch of the USA Network reality series Chrisley Knows Best, which aired from 2014 to 2023. The show chronicled the lives of Todd, his wife Julie, and their children, highlighting their affluent lifestyle and family dynamics.

Legal Issues and Conviction

In 2019, Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted on multiple federal charges, including tax evasion, bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Prosecutors alleged that the couple submitted false financial documents to secure over $30 million in loans and failed to pay federal taxes. In June 2022, they were found guilty on all counts. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while Julie received a 7-year sentence.

Presidential Pardon

On May 27, 2025, former President Donald Trump announced full pardons for Todd and Julie Chrisley. The decision followed advocacy from their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, and claims of prosecutorial misconduct and political bias. The pardons were expected to be finalized by May 28, 2025, allowing the couple to be released from prison and return home.
